Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Junior Software Engineer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Company software that is currently in use by internal and external partners. He/She supports other Software Engineers in the design and development of software applications, as needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with Business Analysts to understand business and client requirements for, and adding said features to the Company’s platform;
  • Maintenance of specific processes such as Formulary Sumbissions and DMRs;
  • Assisting with new client implementations;
  • Running and monitoring performance tests on new and existing software for the purposes of correcting mistakes, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging;
  • Researching, investigating, and staying at the forefront of technology (Software Development, Hardware, Programming Languages, etc.).

Required professional experience & Professional Competencies

  • Computer proficiency (Software and Hardware): experience in computer programming using at least 2 of the following: NET 1.1 / 2.0 / 3.5, ASP.NET, AJAX, VB / C#, JavaScript, VB Script, HTML and XML - XSLT. Knowledge of Web and Windows Applications architecture and Microsoft programming.
  • Experience working with Visual SourceSafe (preferred)
  • Exposure to Microsoft’s .Net Framework
  • Exposure to SQL Server, Database Design, T-SQL and Stored Procedures (Database replication is a plus)
  • Familiar with Object‐Oriented languages and Design Patterns.
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare, Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Benefit Management industries, Medicare Part D, and CMS regulations is a plus;
  • Analytical and Critical thinking, Accountability, Strategic thinking and planning, Software Development, Debugging, Working in teams; Attention to detail, Customer service focused;
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (read, speak, and write) in English and Spanish.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Certificate of No Penal record
  • HIPAA, both Security & Privacy; Confidentiality, & Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA)*
  • Must be able to lift a minimum 10 pounds.

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a large part of the work day.

· The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access other employees, file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

· An employee must be able to talk, hear, and see, and must be able to grasp objects.

· Visual acuity is necessary in order to read and write handwritten and typewritten materials and view a computer terminal.

· Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). Use of hands (specifically fingers) is necessary for appropriate and efficient computer use.
